  Joshua represented me in my divorce and in the years since then as my ex-husband and I have co-parented our children. He was always prepared, professional and thorough. When I walk into his office he has briefed himself on my history and background and is ready for any question I might bring. He is a good listener and a thoughtful, caring person. In addition he's expert in his field, especially with the international aspect of my divorce. I give him my highest recommendation.

  My first engagement with Kristin Amonette was exceptional. She took the reins of a very complex case and restored sanity and order to the process. I found her to be prepared as well as aggressive when she needed to be but advised me on multiple strategies to consider. However, my disappointment with her and the firm in general and why this is a 3 star review and not a 5 star is because she and the firm do not mange their clients well. It would sometimes take WEEKS to get calls back or follow through on important issues. I would frequently leave 5+ messages before getting a return call. I often felt like the firm would forget I was even a client, often having to retell the same information multiple times to get back up to speed, rather than the firm just being too busy to be responsive. I realize that attorneys take on more clients than they can handle in order to stay busy and make more money, but servicing your clients during very delicate negotiations where time is of the essence are table stakes for the amount of money being spent on this service.

  I was recently released from Federal Prison after a 46 month sentence for wire fraud. I was offered a job to bartend, but the state of Tennessee denied my license to serve alcohol due to my conviction date for the wire fraud charges being less than four years. I retained Kristen to appeal my case before the TABC board. She advised me and helped me get letters from the community and family. She returned my emails and calls in a timely manner and talked me out of my irrational thoughts. She advised me well on how the procedure would go and what to expect. At the hearing, she was professional and respectful of the opposing attorney. But, she was also firm and educated them in federal law. They tried to claim my crime was embezzlement which carries an 8 year prohibition, and Kristen quickly recited federal laws and statutes stating otherwise. She was very knowledgable about my criminal case although she did not represent me in that case. The director of the board agreed with her that my TABC license would help move me and my family forward in life and granted me the license. I am so happy and working full time now thanks to Kristen Amonette. I can not thank or say enough kind things about this sweet soul. THANK YOU Kristen for moving my life in the right direction!
